This fantastic creature visited Rowley, MA in Winter of 1996. He stayed for a few weeks and I (as well as dozens of others) was able to get tons of photos. Mark Wilson of the Boston Globe had a fantastic in flight face-on shot! The owl was very cooperative, staying in the same fields hunting voles and field mice, and you can see never shied away from the camera! This is from film and I'm in the process of getting the slides scanned. I'll post more when I can.
